Grow or die. That’s always been the mantra of successful businesses. At Mickey, our record growth over the past several years has been the result of the 3 P’s: growth through people, growth through products and growth through places. Look no further than this issue of The Mickey Spirit for a great example of each.
People: We have added 4 highly experienced teammates in key areas of responsibility. Drew Aloisi joins the Sales Team as Director of National Accounts to help grow our van and beverage body business even beyond its current record pace. Mike Asbury is our new Corporate Continuous Improvement Manager. To manage our significant growth corporate growth, we must identify and execute process improvement opportunities throughout our organization. Mike is going to lead this effort. The Parts segment of the body & trailer industry is becoming more competitive and more complex, and we plan to stay out in front of the crowded field. Jarret Floyd, our new Parts Director, comes to Mickey with over 13 years of experience as a manager and technician with expertise in marketing, customer relations and inventory control. Heather Lee has joined our Finance Team as Sr. Financial Analyst. She is working with management to create process improvements in financial planning, budgeting and reporting.
Products: For too long the only option beverage distributors had for bulk delivery were large, cumbersome and inflexible “box” trailers. Welcome to the 21st Century Trailer from Mickey Truck Bodies, designed and built specifically for beverage delivery. The heavy-duty trailer handles better, has a more modern appearance and lasts longer than conventional box trailers. Our new E-Lock and E-Door will be featured together on a propane-powered 10-bay sideloader at the September BevOps Summit in Phoenix. In the last issue of The Mickey Spirit you read about our new refrigerated van body with composite panels.
Places: We recently purchased a new manufacturing location totaling 158,000 square feet in Salem Township, PA that we will use to serve the Northeastern U.S. market, which represents a tremendous growth opportunity for us. This move comes on the heels of our major plant expansion right here in High Point.
Happy reading.
