Josh Soto, EHS Manager (center, right), presents Silver Certificate to Mike Parker, Midwest GM.
The Mickey Truck Bodies Midwest Reconditioning & Services Team in Bloomington, IL has received the NC Silver Certificate of Safety Achievement Award for 2016. The team is working on an accident-free record of 238 days (at press time) and also showed a reduction in safety audit items found during its annual training & audit conducted by Josh Soto, Mickey?s Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager.
The rigorous annual audits and training program, which are conducted in all Mickey manufacturing and recon facilities, cover several key areas, including crane training; fall protection; DOT roadside inspection; hazard communication; hearing conservation; Personal Protection Equipment (PPE); respirator requirements; forklift and scissor lift training & inspections; emergency action training; fire prevention & housekeeping; and first aid & blood borne pathogen, among others.
?The Midwest Team has truly made safety its top priority,? says Josh. ?We had a few new hires to help us keep up with our business growth in that market, and the more tenured guys on the team really helped bring them up to speed.?
