John Pierce, An Experienced Engineer, Is ‘Proud’ In Return To Mickey
John Pierce has rejoined Mickey Truck Bodies? Engineering Team as Van Body Engineer to help enhance the design, manufacturing and teamwork processes in the Van and Vending Body product lines. He reports to Carl Mickey, Jr., Executive Vice President.
John originally joined Mickey in 1997 as Van Body Engineering Manager, and advanced to Director of Engineering a couple years later and held that position until he left the company in April 2002. Most recently he was General Manager with Ferree Trailer, a manufacturer of heavy-haul specialty trailers, and before that was Director of Engineering & Warranty at East Manufacturing Corporation, manufacturer of aluminum flatbeds, dump trailers and bodies, and refuse trailers. All told, John has logged 30-plus years designing and manufacturing transportation products, including van bodies, aluminum and steel semi-trailers, beverage trailers and bodies and refuse trailers.
John holds an A.S. degree in design engineering from West Virginia Institute of Technology in Montgomery, WV, and earned his B.A. degree in management from John Wesley College in High Point, NC. He moved back to High Point last year with his wife, Susan, and daughter, Jayne, after having lived in Ohio for the previous 11 years.
?John was a tremendous asset to our company and our Engineering Team during his initial tenure, and we?re very happy to have him back,? says Carl. ?His experience in the industry and familiarity with our products and customers will make him an immediate contributor and an outstanding mentor to our young engineers.?
?Mickey Truck Bodies is a great place to work and has always maintained a solid reputation for the quality of its products and its people,? John says. ?Very few companies stay in business for 110 years; not only is Mickey still around, it continues to expand into new markets, develop new products and improve its position as the dominant player within its customer industries. I?m proud to tell people that I work for Mickey.?
