St. Paul, MN in the last week of January? It makes perfect sense if you have the opportunity to meet with the state’s family-owned, independent beer distributors known for delivering “choice, variety and value one beer at a time” to the communities they serve.

The Mickey Party Time event trailer was a hot topic at the MBWA annual conference.

That’s exactly what brought Mickey’s Steve Mason (Midwest Regional Sales Manager) and Mike Parker (Midwest Reconditioning General Manager) to the Minnesota Beer Wholesalers Association Annual Conference January 26 & 27 at the St. Paul Hotel. And it was a very successful trip.

“The beer wholesalers in Minnesota are great people and very strong supporters of their association,” says Mike. “Their annual conference is always very well attended and it’s an outstanding opportunity for us.”

“We had positive discussions with many current Mickey customers as well as prospects,” adds Steve. “The new Mickey Party Time event trailer was a hot topic; wholesalers were impressed with the high quality construction, design and modern cooling system.”

Minnesota wholesalers also expressed serious interest in Mickey’s Double Play combo trailers for delivering refrigerated kegs and packaged products, especially considering the growth of craft brewers and stricter temperature requirements for draught beer.

“We are competing with other wholesalers to get distribution rights for larger craft brands when they come into our markets,” says Jeff Ruprecht, Sr. Director of Delivery at J.J. Taylor Minnesota, which distributes brands from over 60 suppliers. “We must do everything possible to provide all our brands with the highest quality distribution and service. This means delivering their beer at the optimal temperatures right off the truck.”

While Steve was talking with wholesalers about new equipment, Mike was busy discussing Mickey’s full-service reconditioning capabilities offered by the company’s Midwest Center in Bloomington, IL, one of 4 company-owned and –operated reconditioning facilities. “Minnesota winters really take their toll on truck bodies and trailers, and the wholesalers here rely on Mickey to keep their equipment running at full strength and looking as good as new,” says Mike “The customers who have used our servicers stopped by to tell us they are very happy with the way their units have held up.”
