Automated Paint Facility - ProcessingGo to Mickey Truck Bodies home page. Designed to Work. Built to Last. It's a Mickey!

At Mickey, Every Painting is a Masterpiece.

Station 1

Acid washing and etching, hot water rinse, bonding application to ensure proper paint adhesion.

Station 3

Mickey technicians manually mask all unpainted areas.

Station 5

Top coat is applied via computer-controlled pre-mix paint guns with multi-color capabilities.

Unit is "parked" on air caster which is "floated" through the six stations via powerful "air cushion." Unit never makes contact with floor surface while inside the building. A unit is never exposed to the outside elements until it is fully painted and "baked" dry. No engines are started inside the building, and tires never make contact with the floor surface, eliminating poor paint applications caused by dust and other contaminants.

Station 2

Unit is "baked dry" with 170-degree air blown at 1,200 CFM. Completely removes all moisture.

Station 4

Primer coat is applied and unit is "flash-dried."

Station 6

"Baking Oven" dries finish completely with 140-degree air at 750 CFM.

Mickey technician monitors the unit at every station from a master computer control panel. Unit cannot move to the next station until work in the previous station has been completed to spec. Computer-controlled interlocking systems on all doors automatically lock once the unit is in the station. Outside doors will not open when a door at one of the stations is open, ensuring that the unit is never exposed to dust and other environmental elements while inside the building.

Paint supplied by Valspar, a leader in low-VOC primer and urethane top coats and refinishing innovation.
