Throughout its 100-year history, Mickey has continuously invested in state-of-the-art technology to maintain its position as a cutting edge manufacturer. The company uses a computer-driven Amada Turret Press with totally programmable tooling stations for absolute accuracy and quality of parts fabrication. It was reportedly one of only two such systems running in the U.S. at the time of the purchase.

Our computer-driven CNC plasma cutting machine enables Mickey operators to cut aluminum sheet up to 96 by 190 inches. The larger format facilitates the completely one-piece skins, which means no more unsightly rivets, caulking or bondo application to adjoin two separate sheets into a single skin. In addition to being more aesthetically appealing, the one-piece skin is much more durable, and will significantly reduce costly repairs due to cracking and popping rivets.

In 2002, Mickey purchased an Almega EX-V6L, the most state-of-the-art robotic welder known to industry, designed to enhance product quality and improve manufacturing productivity and efficiency at the same time. (Please see our "Big Al" press release.)

Mickey recently added over 60,000 square feet of manufacturing, finishing and administrative space to its High Point, NC headquarters complex, bringing the total facility up to more than 200,000 square feet. During the past few years, the company has invested several million dollars in new fixtures, equipment, manufacturing technology and technical training.
